The Minority Arts Resource Council, Inc. (MARC) has
been providing minority artists with opportunities to display and perform
their art since 1978. A professional arts organization of fine artists
and craftspersons with skills in all aspects of design, MARC provides
services to artists and students of diverse cultures in all of the artistic
disciplines. MARC also provides a studio art museum where artists can
create, perform and exhibit their work.

MARC has developed several initiatives to assure inclusion of artists
of color in the mainstream of the art industry. In addition to the MARC
Artists' Consortium newsletter entitled "Arts Intercom," which
keeps artists of color abreast of opportunities in their field, MARC hosts
the annual MARCFEST, an annual arts festival of diverse cultures which
includes over 300 performance and visual artists. The Artists' Entrepreneurship
Training Program provides direct training to young artists to encourage
their talent and skills and market their art. And MARC also promotes "Jazz
Down Under," a series of programs to introduce and educate Philadelphians
on the City's great history of jazz and other music forms.
