Gershman YM/YWHA at Gershman Hall, located at Broad and Pine Streets along the Avenue of the Arts, has been a cultural mecca for the greater Philadelphia region since 1928.

A branch of the Jewish Community Centers for Greater Philadelphia, the Gershman Y proudly showcases a number of exceptional cultural events including a Jewish Film Festival, Israeli Film Festival, Jewish Book Festival and Adult Education Classes.


A man examines sculptures at the Daroff Campus of Adult Education's latest Student/Faculty Art Exhibit, held in the Gershman Y's Borowsky Gallery. This annual juried show is just one of many exhibits held in the Gallery throughout the year.


The Borowsky Gallery, housed at the Gershman Y, features monthly exhibitions of contemporary artists. The Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, also housed at the Gershman Y, features memorabilia of outstanding Jewish athletes and leaders in the world of sports.

Children read books purchased at the greater Philadelphia Jewish Book Festival held at the Gershman Y. Thousands of titles were available for purchase for readers of all ages and interests. In addition to the sale of books and gift items, Jewish Book Festival hosted well-known authors in Book Discussions at locations throughout the city.
