The Legendary Blue Horizon^TM

The Legendary Blue Horizon^TM on the Avenue of the Arts at North Broad Street and Thompson Avenue, was built in 1865 as three individual houses in the Second Empire style. It was expanded in 1914 to include an auditorium, ballroom and supper club by the Loyal Order of Moose.

Today, The Legendary Blue Horizon^TM is the home of NIA KUUMBA, the non-profit organization charged with renovating the building and providing social services to the North Philadelphia community surrounding it.

The Legendary Blue Horizon^TM provides space for professional and amateur boxing events, community meetings, weddings, receptions, cabarets, concerts, plays, movies, commercials, fashion and talent shows. It is the Number One Boxing Venue in the World, the last boxing venue of its kind in the United States and was the site of the filming of the movie, "Rocky V." This venue is also the headquarters for the Blue Horizon Boxing Promotions, Inc.
