Never Miss Another Overture:
The “Getting to the Show on Time” Pamphlet is Back
Philadelphia, PA, October 24, 2006---
It is every theatergoer’s nightmare: after buying tickets
months in advance, getting dressed up, and finding a babysitter,
they discover themselves stuck in traffic, unable to find
the theatre, or driving in circles until they can find a
parking garage. In the worst-case scenario, they arrive
at the theater after the show has started and they can’t
be seated until intermission, missing the first half of something
they’ve been waiting so long to see.
The Avenue of the Arts, Inc. (AAI) understands all the trouble that
visitors can have when trying desperately to make it to the theatre,
so AAI. has just released an updated version of every performing arts
connoisseur’s best friend: their “Getting to the
Show on Time” brochure. It has clearer maps and
a new visual layout that make this brochure almost as much a work of
art as the pieces in the galleries on the Avenue it is promoting. With
its convenient size it fits easily in a wallet or purse, but remains
easy to read despite its tiny dimensions.
This essential pamphlet includes something for every traveler. If
you’re coming by car, it has driving directions to
the Avenue, a map, and visual depictions of all the parking
garages in the area for easy finding. For those who’d
rather not take their chances with the notoriously fickle
Philadelphia traffic, the brochure provides easy instructions
on how to get to the Avenue by SEPTA, PATCO, New Jersey Transit,
and Phlash. And if you get here with enough time to
spare, there is even a list of nearby restaurants and hotels. Any
visitor holding one of these small wonders is sure to never
miss another overture!
Avenue of the Arts, Inc. is an independent non-profit organization
founded in 1993 by the City of Philadelphia, the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania, and supported by public and private funds.
Within the last eight years, AAI has overseen the transformation
of North and South Broad Street into a world-class cultural
and entertainment destination, through the development of
performance, visual and educational facilities.
