Avenue of the Arts, Inc. to Host 2nd Public Forum at the Union League
Philadelphia, PA (August 10, 2004)- Avenue of the Arts: Keys to the Development Process, is the second forum in the” Conversations on the Avenue” series. It will take place Wednesday September 22nd at the Union League at 140 S. Broad Street. The forum, organized by Avenue of the Arts, Inc. (AAI), will be held from 5 pm to 6:30pm.
Avenue of the Arts: Keys to the Development Process will be moderated by Don Meginley, President of Preservation Initiatives, Inc. The event will consist of a panel discussion with three speakers discussing the components of Real Estate Development and its implications for the Avenue of the Arts. Omowale Crenshaw, Executive VP of Universal Companies will add his insight on residential development on the Avenue and some possible future plans. Floyd Alston, President of Beech Interplex, Inc. will be contributing to the discussion by speaking about Community Development and what impact it has on the Avenue. Mixed-Use Development will be discussed by Carl Dranoff, President/CEO of Dranoff Properties, Inc. The panel discussion will be followed by a reception with cash bar.
“The purpose of the forum is …” Karen Lewis, Executive Director of AAI. Formed in 1993, AAI is the catalyst for cultural and economic growth along the Avenue of the Arts. Led by a committed volunteer board of business, cultural, and community leaders, AAI works closely with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to develop its 3.5-mile segment of Broad Street into a world-class cultural destination.
