Sister’s Christmas Catechism The Mystery of the Magi's Gold
Coming to Kimmel Center's Innovation Studio November 24 - December 24

It's Not "The Nutcracker," It's Not "A Christmas Carol," But It IS Philadelphia's Newest Holiday Hit!

Sister's Christmas Catechism, the latest holiday addition to the popular Late Nite Catechism series created & written by Maripat Donovan, will make its Philadelphia premiere for a four-week engagement November 24 - December 24 at the Kimmel Center’s Innovation Studio.

The hilarious, surprise-filled production, which uses audience members as part of the show, features Sister attempting to discover the whereabouts of the Magi's Gold using investigative techniques from her favorite TV show, Forensic Files. Detective tools in hand, Sister creates a living nativity using audience members dressed as the Holy Family, Magi, shepherds, sheep, cattle….and of course, as ass. She then sets the stage for the crime by directing a local choir in songs of the season that are sure to add even more clues to her investigation.

A PRODUCTION FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!

Written and performed by David Gonzalez
Directed by Lenard Petit
Appropriate for ages 7+
December 22 - 30, 2006

When a King sends his three sons to find their brides, two return with fair ladies. The last returns with... A FROG?! This hip adaptation of a classic Russian tale is told by consummate storyteller David Gonzalez. Two outstanding musicians weave one of Prokofiev's classics with an original jazz-funk score, as David performs every role against a backdrop of stunning live video projection and moving images by painter Wassily Kandinsky. Filled with comic sparkle, The Frog Bride is a "ribbiting" coming-of-age story.
